Abstract

Prehabilitation interventions prepare patients for surgery to improve postoperative outcomes and recovery. In-person prehabilitation is generally more engaging and effective than home-based. However, 70% of patients prefer to undertake prehabilitation at home, due to time constraints and challenges of frequently travelling to facilities. Digital prehabilitation offers a promising solution to these barriers, whilst also harnessing key facilitators of engagement such as individualisation, objective progression, and progress monitoring. The Centre for Perioperative Care guidance for widespread prehabilitation necessitates an accessible and cost-effective intervention. The present study investigated the feasibility and acceptability of an individualised digital prehabilitation intervention (‘PreActiv’).
