Abstract

The innovative features of Kerakoll's Biocalce Muroseco mortar are presented. It is characterized by its high compatibility with old substrates – both from mechanical and hydric point of view - with its ability to promote fast drying of moisture on existing walls. This property helps to prevent degradation phenomena resulting from rising damp with soluble salts which, after crystallization, result in the loss of physical stability of the renderings and coatings, loss of their aesthetic and protective function, and consequent reduction of their longevity. The choice of natural hydraulic lime, natural pozzolans and natural elements give it a natural and optimized porosity, and high insensitivity to sulphate attack.
